Karim Nassar, MBA – Partner

   Karim Nassar is a partner at Patient Insight Network Inc. His portfolio of clients includes Novo Nordisk, a large pharmaceutical manufacturer, NexJ Health, a publicly traded Toronto exchange company, and Enara Health, a San Francisco health startup.

He is often invited as a special guest to conferences around the world, such as BIO, to share his knowledge in healthcare. Most recently he was invited to speak at MedicineX at Stanford University and eyeforpharma in Europe. He is often networking and is passionate about innovative approaches to improving healthcare.


Karim has over a decade of experience advising companies in the pharmaceutical and homecare space ranging in size from a research startup to multi-billion Fortune 10 companies. This experience garners him an understanding of how the drivers of success change depending on the company’s development stage. A priori, Karim begins by working closely with the company’s leaders and decision makers to piece together their value story and then follows by leading the build of all supporting material to communicate and execute that vision.

He is first and foremost a deal maker, aggregating the skills of a health strategist, company valuator, and a tactical corporate developer, to advise companies on how to develop and communicate their offering to gain significant market opportunities.

A key differentiator that Karim brings, is his years of experience in corporate acquisitions and financial modelling which he uses throughout the process for negotiation and to financially ground his client’s proposals. He builds pricing models using both cost-plus and market pricing methods and relays pricing back into a clearly defined profit and loss statement that helps his clients better plan financially and operationally for their customers’ deliverables.

Professional Experience

Karim’s past roles included serving as a Director of Strategy at McKesson Canada where he acted as a national advisor to McKesson’s C-suite as well as McKesson Specialty and their Retail Banners. He led McKesson’s scenario planning exercise to develop its 3-year business plan and was responsible for planning its implementation across several business units. He was instrumental in McKesson’s acquisitions of Shoppers Drug Mart stores, the Remedy’s Rx banner, and the Rexall chain. At VitalAire, an international home care provider and a division of Air Liquide Santé International, he took on various functions including general management as a zone leader of Southern Alberta, defending home oxygen reimbursement in Ontario as a business analyst and corporate acquisitions leader for all VitalAire Canada. He is consistently recognized as a team player and a leader.


Karim holds a Queen’s MBA, a certificate in Health Economics and Outcomes Research from the University of Washington and a computer engineering degree from the University of Toronto.
